Thank you for taking in interest in my story. I hope you will enjoy reading it and sharing in my life. While the title is called "Life of an Autism Warrior Mom" I want to make sure that you realize this blog is not about autism diets or anything having to do with the Warrior Mom that Jenny McCarthy (someone I have a ton of respect for) talks about. This is a different type of warrior mom (my own definition) and my blog is just about me and my kids. Here I will share my life and sometimes that means I will be talking about the impact autism played that day and other times I will be talking about my avon, or fibromyalgia, or being a single mom, or any other topic that comes to my mind that day. I hope you enjoy it. BY THE WAY: Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the Autism Speaks box to find out how you can help support my team in raising money for this years walk. Please give us a hand in reaching our goal this year.
I am a 43 year old single mom with 2 sons: Justin, age 15 and Tyler, age 10. I have lived in CT all of my life, graduating from Southington High School in 1984. I then recieved my Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood education and then a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Currently I am a SAHM with my children due to their special needs (both are autistic) and my own disability (fibromyalgia).
I am also an AVON representative specializing in fundraisers and I am actively involved in raising money for Autism Speaks among other organizations.
I love my children, first and foremost, but I also love reading, movies, video games, and just hanging out with a bowl of popcorn and a hot coffee. I welcome visitors!
